Women Xpress
Women Xpress is a group of female artists
that was created by Wachata Crew in 2017
so as to discover and mentor
female artists practicing street art,
based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
In 2023, Women Xpress was part of graffiti artists
in “JIKUBALI Campaign”
in the National AIDS Control Program (NACP)
under the Ministry of Health in collaboration
with the Ministry of Education.
Also in 2021, they did a live Group graffiti event
at the High Commission of Canada in Tanzania
celebrating Women’s Day.
During the Wild Mural Festival, Women Xpress will be associated to Under the Wave Organisation, an NGO that protects the marine life in Zanzibar.
Located in Matemwe,
on the North-East coast of Zanzibar,
Under The Wave is a Non-Profit Organization
with a diverse group of people
united by a common passion protecting the ocean,
supporting the local community, and restoring coral reefs in Zanzibar.
All of their projects are tied to their core purpose:
1. Facilitate sustainable living practices within local communities
2. Promote awareness and engagement for marine and coastal ecosystems
3. Protect, conserve, and restore the marine environment of Zanzibar
