Our Missions

Wall art Romaround

During a one month Artist in residence at Local Ocean Conservation, Vicki, alias Romaround, learnt a lot about Kenya’s marine life, the turtles of Kenya and the amazing work they are doing here.

In exchange of this knowledge, she painted a Mural on the front of the visitor center and the floor in the shop, making this building more attractive for the eyes hoping attracting more visitors to support this great NGO.

Wall art La Zipolita

Laura alias La Zipolita, made a wall painting of the landscape of Mida Creek in Watamu.

Mangroves are vital ecosystems that play a crucial role helping the planet breathe by sequestering large amounts of carbon dioxide, protecting coastlines from erosion, and providing habitats for diverse wildlife.

Local Ocean is actively contributing to the preservation and expansion of these essential forests by harvesting seeds in their gardens and promoting mangrove growth.
